Diego Della Valle is the founder of Tod's, whose iconic, stud-sole driving shoes are worn by everyone from Princess Caroline of Monaco to Milanese matrons. His grandfather was a cobbler, and his father built the business into a shoe factory. In 1979 Della Valle launched a sideline called J.P. Tod's, later shortened to Tod's.
